Pokemon Pokopia (2026)
I love cozy games but kind of hate baby games. So it’s a thin line when a cozy casual game handholds you through every step. I think Pokopia comes pretty close to being too much of a “baby” game. The first area in the Withered Wasteland it hand holds you pretty hard. I think I almost lost interest before I discovered the second region.
The second and third regions were much less hand-holdy. I think these regions are where Pokopia truly shines. There is a blueprint of the infrastructure of these towns that shows what the world was like before the Pokepocalypse. I think Bleak Beach might be the best world in terms of progression. Wiring the infra together and seeing the dark town slowly light up is rewarding. The flooding portions from the fountains immediately drying up the a couple concrete blocks makes the neighborhood look great.
Overall I think this does compare to Animal Crossing New Horizons, but I think the polish and style of AC is more appealing to me personally.
